MNL48, the first-ever Filipina idol group formed via “It’s Showtime,” recently inked their co-management contract renewal with ABS-CBN last Friday (October 4).
The group’s Senbatsu members Sela, Abby, Sheki, Jamie, Rans, and Gabb, as well as MNL48 Under Girls Coleen, Brei, and Belle led the contract signing held in ABS-CBN that excited netizens and catapulted the hashtag #MNL48inABSCBN to the top spot of the country’s trending topics on Twitter.
Avid fans can look forward to their projects, such as their upcoming fifth single to be produced under Star Music, their first team concert, and a documentary series on the girls’ lives behind the scenes entitled “ICYMI: I See Me (The MNL48 Documentary)” this October. MNL48 members Abby, Kay, Coleen, and Brei will also star in the much-anticipated film adaption of the hit manga series “Seikimatsu Blue,” which will premiere first in Japan in January 2020.

The sing-and-dance group MNL48 was formed through the efforts of ABS-CBN and Hallohallo Entertainment, with members carefully selected through the four-month talent search in “It’s Showtime.”
Under ABS-CBN and Star Music, MNL48 released singles namely “Aitakatta – Gustong Makita,” “Talulot Ng Sakura,” “Amazing Grace,” “Palusot Ko’y Maybe,” and became the interpreter for the Himig Handog 2018 entry “Dalawang Pag-Ibig Niya” along with Sheena Belarmino and Krystal Brimner.
MNL48 is the international sister group of the highest-selling J-pop phenomenon AKB48.
