Veteran broadcast journalist Anthony Taberna investigates hazards caught on camera in the newest current affairs program on ABS-CBN entitled “Kuha Mo!” premiering this Saturday (April 27) after “SOCO.”

“Kuha Mo!” features user-generated content that sheds light on the stories of individuals who experienced and survived dangerous incidents like accidents, calamities, and crime. Featuring real footage from cellphone, CCTV, security, and dashboard cameras, the program aims to remind Filipinos to be vigilant and to equip them with knowledge on what to do to prevent and how to handle harmful and life threatening situations.

According to Anthony, also known as Ka Tunying in his many years of experience as a radio and TV journalist and anchor, the show will utilize technology for the safety and awareness of all, and to hold the proper authorities accountable for incidents that affect the public.

“We want more people to be aware of the things happening around them, but more importantly to have empathy for each other. By using real footage, we hope this show reminds people to be proactive in situations like these, whether it happens to them, their families, or to strangers,” he said.

On the first episode, Anthony tackles both common and unusual incidents on the road, from motorcycle and truck collisions to freak accidents such as a fire extinguisher exploding, or having a safety barrier fall on a moving vehicle from a pedestrian overpass. Using footage of real incidents, “Kuha Mo!” will break down what happened and discuss how a situation could have been prevented, as well as the proper and safe way to respond to it. The show will also feature the survivors and witnesses of these incidents as they share their stories and firsthand accounts so that others can learn from their experience.

In this program, the multi-awarded broadcast journalist gets to work together with Kapamilyas to investigate these hazards by utilizing both archive videos of ABS-CBN and security footage from barangays and local government units, as well as online viral content and foreign video materials.

To help viewers be more sensitive towards other people and know what to do in case of unusual situations, Anthony will also be doing social experiments that will impart lessons to audiences. This Saturday, the “Kuha Mo!” team checks if jeepney passengers are willing to aid a victim of a pickpocket, or if they will they just let the robber go free.

Be amazed, be vigilant and be ready to extend a helping hand, with Anthony and fellow Kapamilyas on “Kuha Mo!” every Saturday, 5:15 pm after “SOCO” on ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN HD.
