ABS-CBN is TV Station of the Year at the VP Choice Awards 2020

ABS-CBN bested five other media companies for the award, which is given to the network that continues to provide “high-quality news and entertainment shows that remain on top of the viewers’ favorite lists.”

Kathryn and Daniel, named TV Icons of the Decade

ABS-CBN and Kapamilya artists continue to receive love from award-giving bodies after winning TV Station of the Year and other trophies at the VP Choice Awards 2020 held virtually last March 6.

ABS-CBN bested five other media companies for the award, which is given to the network that continues to provide “high-quality news and entertainment shows that remain on top of the viewers’ favorite lists.”

 

Kapamilya teleserye “Love Thy Woman” was also cited for capturing “the hearts of Filipino viewers with its relatable and timely plot and great acting ensemble” as TV Series of the Year, while its lead actor Xian Lim won TV Actor of the Year for his performance in the program.

Meanwhile, Star Magic artists Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla were hailed as TV Female Icon and TV Male Icon of the Decade for their unwavering dedication to their craft while Kyle Echarri and Francine Diaz or “KyCine,” won Love Team of the Year.

Rounding up the individual winners are awardees from ABS-CBN are “Fan Girl” star Charlie Dizon (Movie Actress of the Year), Andrea Brillantes (TikTok Star of the Year), Ivana Alawi (Breakthrough Social Media Star of the Year), Sarah Geronimo (Performer of the Year), and Francine (Promising Female Star of the Year).

“Fan Girl,” a collaboration between ABS-CBN Films' Black Sheep, Globe Studios, Project 8, Epicmedia, and Crossword Productions, was also recognized as VP Choice Awards’ Movie of The Year, while director Antoinette Jadaone won Movie Director of the Year.

The VP Choice Awards is an annual event presented by Village Pipol magazine to highlight the finest in the travel, lifestyle, technology, and entertainment industries. The winners are determined through a voting system with 25% coming from online votes, 25% from Facebook shares, 30% from the editorial team, and 20% from a panel of judges.
