Guapdad 4000 and
!llmind announce March 19, 2021 as the release date of their “
1176” album that features singles like
“How Many,” “Chicken Adobo” and more.
March 19, 2021 is also Lola Appreciation Day.
Guapdad 4000 created Lola Appreciation Day to give flowers to our ancestors and those that paved the way for our success.
In a
YouTube video where Guapdad 400 announces Lola Appreciation Day on the same day his 1176 album drops, he says,
“I created Lola Appreciation Day to be a universal thing because it is not even just Filipinos. Everybody with a grandma should sit down with their grandparents and hear the story that they tell because people often overlook their roots.”
“1176” is an introspective album of growing up in Oakland and being raised by his Lola (Grandmother). Guapdad 4000 adds,
“That’s a lot of wisdom and experience that you can take from your loved ones… it’s only right we pay that homage and that respect to where we come from.”
He teamed up with @MYXglobal to announce the new annual date where people all over the world can show appreciation for their grandparents, especially those that have migrated to other countries to help support their families.
A TV commercial airing on
MYX,
TFC, and
Asian Journal featuring some of the stories shared on social media will be chosen.
Enter for a chance to win $500 and a feature in the commercial by posting a photo of your Lola (Grandmother) on any of the following platforms: Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. In your post, describe why you love her and include the hashtags #mahalkitalola & #chickenadobo. Guapdad 4000 and his Lola will personally pick the winning stories.
Deadline for your posts to be included in the contest is on
March 21, 2021 at 11:59 P.M. (Pacific).
