On the 13th anniversary of “It’s Showtime,” Ryan Bang finally won his first "Magpasikat 2022" grand champion award after he and Jhong Hilario showcased the excellent relationship between the Philippines and South Korea.
Using Filipino and Korean dances and performances, Ryan and Jhong highlighted the history and culture of both countries. They also highlighted the Filipino veterans who helped South Korea during the Korean War.
Their tandem won P500,000, which will be donated to a Filipino veterans’ charity organization.
Coming in second place was the team of Vice Ganda and Amy Perez, who dedicated a heartwarming performance for the workers and PWDs. They won P300,000 for their chosen charity.
The team of Karylle and Ogie Alcasid was named 3rd place and won P100,000 for their chosen charity for their musical on how love always saves the day.
The panel of judges was also comprised of award-winning actor John Arcilla, "Iron Heart" star Baron Geisler, "Dream Maker" mentor Darren Espanto, Janice de Belen, Pia Magalona, and Creative Programs, Inc. Head and ABS-CBN Foundation Executive Director Ernie Lopez.
Meanwhile, as the hosts shared their messages for the show's anniversary, Vice realized that Ryan secured his first championship when he returned to its roots after multiple attempts.
He used the opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved with the initiative since its inception.
Direk Bobet Vidanes, Direk Mel Feliciano, and Direk Boyet, thank you very much.Sa lahat ng mga host na nagsimula nito kasama na diyan sina Kuya Kim, Billy Crawford, Coleen, Eruption, and Joey Marquez, thank you very much," he said.
Bago tayo nagkasakitan. Bago tayo nawatak. Bago tayo nagalit sa isa’t isa, nagmahalan tayo. Gusto ko balikan yun. It's a celebration. We want to celebrate the love we once felt kahit hindi na tayo magkakasama,” he added.
