An action packed weekend awaits boxing fans for the next two Sundays as they can witness a historic match between Pinoy fighters Donnie Nietes and Aston Palicte (Sept. 9) and boxing stars Gennady Golovkin and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez (Sept. 16) straight from the U.S.

The special SKY Sports Pay-Per-View bundle that will be shown commercial-free and in high definition is offered for only P249 to all SKYcable, SKYdirect, and One SKY Fiber subscribers so they can get front row access to this month’s must-see boxing matches.

This Sunday (September 9), Donnie ‘Ahas’ Nietes and Aston Palicte will become the fourth pair of Filipinos in history to battle for the WBC Super Flyweight World Championship at The Forum in Los Angeles.

Nietes, the longest-reigning Filipino boxing world champion, is ready and excited to fight in the 115-pound division after he pulled off a triumphant flyweight title defense against Argentinean challenger Juan Carlos Reveco in February.

Although less experienced than Nietes, Palicte is motivated to win his first world championship as a birthday gift to his daughter. The 27-year-old Negros Occidental native who currently holds a 24-2 professional record calls the upcoming bout as his biggest fight in hi career so far.

The following week (September 16), boxing stars Gennady Golovkin and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez will square off once more in Las Vegas for the highly anticipated rematch after their 2017 controversial bout.

Golovkin, with stats of 38-0-1, 34 KOs to his name, has 20 straight defenses in the division and is tied with Bernard Hopkins for the record.

Meanwhile, Alvarez with stats of 49-1-2, 34 KOs, is on a campaign as a full-fledged 160-pound middleweight. He has not lost a fight since dropping a majority decision against Floyd Mayweather in 2013.

As the fight is tipped to be one of the most exciting fights of the year, the winner will be able to call himself the king of the middleweights.
