The show’s finale garnered an all time-high rating of 34.7% compared to rival show “Onanay” which only got 15.4% from the combined urban and rural homes, according to data from Kantar Media.
 
In a heart-wrenching scene, Oli (Jameson Blake) guns down brother Inno and his brother’s girlfriend, Eva, when he comes to a breaking point, believing that his mother Stella (Alice Dixson), was killed by Eva’s mother, Rebecca (Iza Calzado). The two die with their hands held together, after swearing their love would never end.
 
Eva and Inno’s families try to move on from the loss, while understanding, healing and, forgiveness prevail between their families.  
 
Netizens expressed shock by the turn of events and the show’s ending, which trended worldwide.  
 
Some praised the ending. According to @DORAEMON’s tweet, "A different , tragic and unique way of ending a story that captured the hearts of the viewers  that will change the way how Philippine drama endings happen." 
 
But some expressed feeling a wave of emotions. In a tweet from @SarangTwoJoshlia, "Even if a chapter closes for Inno and Eva, your story and your characters will always remain with us. Thank you for the countless times you made us cry, laugh and feel good.”
 
Since it aired on television, “Ngayon at Kailanman” has thrilled viewers with its story that centers on family and love. The show is also a consistent top-rater, according to Kantar Media, and continuously beat its rival program in national TV ratings.
