ABS-CBN’s anniversary video featuring a 101-year old Kapamilya fan, which has already racked up over 830,000 views, continues to move and inspire people as it highlights love for family, especially for the elderly.
The video circulating on Facebook and YouTube features the “Kadenang Ginto” cast’s trip to Pampanga to visit 101-year old Panfila “Mama Nene” Pingul, a self-proclaimed loyal fan of the Kapamilya network.
Mama Nene shared that watching ABS-CBN teleseryes brings her happiness and helps her cope from missing her children, who are now all abroad, and in dealing with her husband’s Alzheimer’s disease.
“It is painful to be left alone. But through watching ABS-CBN, I found myself a companion,” she said.
The grandmother had a memorable Mother’s Day celebration last month as Andrea Brillantes, Francine Diaz, Dimples Romana, and Beauty Gonzalez - the lead stars of her favorite daytime show – came to bond with her.
The stars enjoyed the time with her too, as they went home with words of wisdom from their oldest fan and an experience they will remember forever.
“She reminded us to always be happy because people already have many problems. So we have to be the reason for them to be happy and no longer be sad,” Francine shared.
Dimples, meanwhile, said it feels good to be able to connect with her, even if it’s just through television. “She watches all our shows from the time she wakes up until night time. It warms the heart to be part of her life. She showed us what it means to be a true Kapamilya,” she said.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN is showing two more heartwarming tributes to Kapamilyas this June as it continues its celebration of being in the service of the Filipino for 65 years.
On Thursday (June 20), the Kapamilya network puts the spotlight on kindhearted Paul Abubakar, the owner and general manager of Echano Dental Clinic, who partnered with ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya to provide dentures to a group of hardworking Filipino mothers that he saw in a “TV Patrol” report. Witness how their medical, dental, and spiritual mission at Anawim Foundation helped bring back happiness to people who have lost their smiles.
On Friday (June 21), see former child star Zaijian Jaranilla return to Bacolor, Pampanga, where he shot the iconic program “May Bukas Pa.” Zaijian visits the iconic San Guillermo church where his character “Santino” and “Bro” would talk, and catches up with the residents of the town whose lives were positively changed by the show.
Catch these inspiring #Kwentong Kapamilya this Thursday (June 20) and Friday (June 21) on ABS-CBN after “TV Patrol” and online on the ABS-CBN Entertainment Facebook page and YouTube channel. For updates, follow @abscbnpr on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter or visit abscbnpr.com.
