Jessy Mendiola and Asian Drama King Jericho Rosales return to television as their 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “The Girl in the Orange Dress” premieres on Cinema One this Sunday (July 14).
Jessy considers this rom-com—her first team-up with Jericho—her biggest movie break yet as she stars in her first lead role as Anna, a shy girl who woke up after an eventful night that she doesn’t remember.
Anna found herself in a hotel room with famous star Rye (Jericho) but has no memory of how she ended up there. Soon, she and Rye have to find a way not to get caught by the fans and press, especially her best friend who is a fan of the actor.
For Miggy Ramos of film site Cinema Bravo, the film hit the romantic-comedy aspect. He said, “Writer-director Jay Abello created a very relatable and highly entertaining film that intends to keep a smile on the audiences’ face from start to finish.”
Joining Jericho and Jessy in this film are Ria Atayde, Sheena Halili, Hannah Ledesma, Cai Cortez, Thou Reyes, Nico Antonio, Via Antonio, and Juan Miguel Severo. The film is directed by Jay Abello and produced by Star Cinema, Quantum Films, and MJM Productions.
