Record-breaking Philippine film Hello, Love, Goodbye returns to Taiwan to make history anew

Romantic drama film with a record-breaking box office gross of PHP 880.6 million (TWD 521.7 million), Hello, Love, Goodbye, is heading back to Taiwan starting February 14th, Valentine’s Day. This also marks the launch of ABS-CBN Global – The Filipino Channel’s partnership with VieShow Cinemas, one of Taiwan’s leading movie exhibitors.

 
The film labeled as the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time will be subtitled in Taiwanese to reach the local viewers. The audience will be acquainted to two of the Philippines’ biggest names of their generation in both television and film, Kathryn Bernardo as Joy and Alden Richards as Ethan. Hello, Love, Goodbye tells a story of Joy, a young migrant worker, whose primary reason for coming to Hong Kong may be her family, but her choice to stay will be decided by her owns aspirations and brush with romance.
 
Moviegoers from Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Cambodia resounded how the film successfully portrayed the heroine’s drive to chase her dreams whilst still showing her vulnerability in various occasions that could be either heartrending or entertaining. The plot tackled a universal dilemma of young adults who begin to face responsibilities as they age, and yet they still hope to pursue what their hearts truly yearn for.
 
Reviews likewise praised the undeniable chemistry between the two lead actors with many hoping for their comeback to reprise their roles. Monet Lu of Asian Journal describes the film as “not just another OFW (overseas Filipino worker) movie” citing how the seasoned director Cathy Garcia-Molina was able to turn testimonies of overseas Filipinos with such truth from the light moments to the darker ones… “It had more depth than I gave it credit for. The movie offers a compelling, detailed, compassionate look at the little-known lives, and hopes, of domestic workers,” says Lu.
 
Hello, Love, Goodbye continues to make history following its 2019 release as it becomes the first Filipino film to be screened across VieShow Cinemas. The following cinemas will hold special screenings starting February 14:
