Up to 33,709 families affected by super typhoon Odette have already received assistance through ABS-CBN Foundation Sagip Kapamilya, which continues to bring aid to Filipinos in devastated areas.
Among those that received relief packs recently were 2,100 families from different barangays in Surigao City and 5,000 families in San Joaquin, Iloilo and Tobias Fornier and Anini-y in Antique.
Additionally, 1,141 families were served in San Francisco, Southern Leyte, while 2,000 individuals received hot meals from the Mobile Kitchen.
In Cebu, food was distributed to 136 families from San Roque, Liberon Carcar Marigondon Evacuation Center, and Lapu Lapu Bankal Elementary School, while ten communities benefited from water purification equipment from Adtel.
ABS-CBN Foundation, together with the ABS-CBN News Public Service team, has also traveled to La Libertad, Negros Occidental, which was also severely impacted by the typhoon.
In an interview with "TV Patrol," one of the residents, Jonalin Tulisana, described how it feels to celebrate Christmas in an evacuation center.
“What matters is that our family remains intact and no one was harmed or injured. Despite the typhoon, we're still complete this Christmas,” she said.
She also expressed her gratitude for the help that arrived, "You came here even if you came from a great distance. Thank you so much.”
