“It’s Showtime” is serving up back-to-back competitions highlighting Filipino talent from Monday to Saturday (May 24 to 29) as it sets the stage for the “Versus” grand finals and “Tawag ng Tanghalan” quarter finals on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and Kapamilya Online Live on Facebook and YouTube.

Viewers will surely find one to root for in “Versus: The Grand Showpresa,” where 16 acts with unique skills and impressive talent will compete to entertain the madlang people. One winner will be named each day and on Friday, only four of them will remain and fight for the championship.

Get ready for the mind-boggling routines by mentalist Tik Talker (Melbourne Javier), card illusionist Tigas Abelgas (Mark Alfonso), head spinner Otso Gwapito (Jericho Ayala), Rubik’s cube solver Son Guro-Ku (Reynaldo Mape Jr.), scaffolds dancer Mani-Queen (Nique Mancha), devil sticks manipulator Fish Be With You (Dexter Duran), and Cyr wheel performer Hilo Love Goodbye (Jay-ar Matias).

The pressure and anticipation are also high for Kuya Wheels (Julio Belacse)’s bubble act, Pa-bili Idol (Charles Miagar)’s yoyo tricks, The Ihaws of Us (Jesse Pascua)’s beatboxing with harmonica playing, Captain Barber (Marlou Mangeron)’s pop lock dancing, ni Mask Alvarado (Noah Velasco)’s blocks juggling and crystal ball act, Emo Magalona (Raphael Dela Cruz)’s light art, Christorpe Reeve (Jestoni Rubantes)’s pen art, Flex Cortez (Noel Villanueva)’s piano performance, and Siyam Milby (Larry Into)’s contemporary dance.

The two-week quarter finals of “Tawag ng Tanghalan,” meanwhile, kicks off on Monday as ten remarkable singers fight tooth and nail for the coveted “spotlight” in order to get one of the two spots in the semifinals.

In the first week, band singer Froilan Cedilla, students Justine Gadi, Reiven Umali, and Josh Labing-isa, and online seller Pamela Anne Mulimbayan will sing their way into the hearts of viewers and ‘hurados.’ Next week, theater actress Aixia Mallary, former service crew Kiro Remon, conservatory graduate Faye Yupano, online seller Erika Buensuceso, and student Psalm Manalo will serve up vocal battles that the madlang people wouldn’t want to miss.

From Monday to Thursday, the finalists will perform their ‘hugot’ songs, viral hits from social media, songs for their families, and summer anthems.

Come Friday and Saturday, the three remaining finalists will battle it out by singing their winning songs and songs for the country. The two singers who will record the highest average scores on each day will be named the semifinalists.
