ABS-CBN’s Star Pop music label has partnered with Singapore-based creative production house AOR Global in advocating for mental health through an extended play (EP) titled “My Safe Place,” which features Filipino and Singaporean artists and is set to be released on October 7 (Friday).
The cross-cultural collaboration was made possible by Filipino talents Trisha Denise and LU.ME and Singapore-based acts KIRI, kotoji, and Marian Carmel—who all share the belief that music plays a significant role in the space of mental wellbeing.
Overall project manager Anjila Lim, also known as artist kotoji, shared her hopes for the EP which presents a story of acknowledgment, acceptance, belief, and hope. She said, “We want to create a movement where people embrace music as a means to find comfort and to help themselves in times of difficulty and need—to create a safe place.”
Part of the digital revenue streams from "My Safe Place" will go to beneficiaries Samaritans of Singapore, Shan You, and Bantay Bata 163.
The EP is co-produced by ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo and Star Pop label head Rox Santos.
Meanwhile, the artists of the project will perform an acoustic performance of the title track “My Safe Place” for the government-organized event “Let’s Talk About Mental Wellness” at Singapore's own Cairnhill Community Centre on October 8 (Saturday).
In partnership with Singapore Street Festival, a “My Safe Place” concert will also be held on October 12 (Wednesday) at the Esplanade Recital Studio in Singapore. The charity event aims to celebrate the release of the EP with live performances from all the artists involved and serve as a fundraiser for Singapore Street Festival’s upcoming mental health projects. Tickets for the concert, priced at 40 SGD each, are now available via
