San Diego Filipino Film Festival Showcase to Premiere on TFC Cable and Satellite

New block of indie content to launch on May 12

SAN DIEGO, CA, May 9, 2024 – TFC subscribers on cable and satellite can now immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Filipino independent cinema when TFC launches the San Diego Filipino Film Festival Showcase starting May 12.
 
This partnership between TFC and the San Diego Filipino Cinema brings about a new block of content that features short films of different genres created by a fresh batch of Filipino independent filmmakers and storytellers who bring to life important global issues, while showcasing Filipino creativity onscreen.
 
From the captivating romance of "Who to Love" by Rommel Andaya; to the inspiring mentorship that ends in a toxic relationship in "Velvet Sky" by Charles Gray; the exploration of familial ties in "Ugnayan" by Erica Olavario; the unexpected outcome when a mother and son decide to do something special for their ailing nanny in "Little Manila" by Arthur Rodger Maranan; supernatural abilities unlocked due to an amulet in "Animo" by Raymund Encanto Salao; to how the act of searching for a missing ingredient leads to a discovery about the power of love and kindness in Melissa Jane Rodriguez’ “Sinigang.”
 
Don't miss out on the insightful documentary about a 40-year-old indigenous man who enrolls in first grade to learn how to read and to write in "A is for Agustin" by Grace Simbulan.
 
These are just some of the films that offer a unique perspective on Filipino life and culture. There are many more that will be featured on San Diego Filipino Film Festival Showcase on TFC.

TFC subscribers around the world can watch these independent movies that celebrate creativity, diversity, and the power of storytelling via the San Diego Filipino Film Festival Showcase block on TFC cable and satellite every Sunday, beginning May 12, on the following time slots: 10:00 P.M. (Pacific), 9:30 P.M. (Saudi/London/Asia), and 11:30 P.M. (Guam). The SDFFF block will also be seen soon on TFC’s streaming platform iWantTFC.
