Entering a new era as a recording artist
Kapamilya star Aljon Mendoza makes his debut as a recording artist with the single “Panghabang-Baby,” set to drop this Friday (Sept. 27).
He felt the excitement of performing the song live at the StarPop Campus Tour held in Northern Iloilo State University last September 18.
“I just feel so happy. Excited ako kasi I get to experience recording and performing songs for people especially sa mga nagsu-support sa'kin. Pag campus tour, nae-enjoy ko siyang gawin dahil nakikita ko sa mga tao at estudyante na kahit papaano, nakakapagpasaya ako sa kanila,” he shared.
The romantic pop track, which was originally performed by Vance Larena, is about a guy confessing his feelings to his loved one. It was composed by Nino Carlo J. Reyes and Philip Thomas Vinoya and was produced by StarPop label head Roque “Rox” Santos.
Aljon described his first single as having ‘pure intentions’ and truly LSS-inducing.
He said, “No’ng napakinggan ko siya, nagustuhan ko agad dahil ang simple lang at napaka-pure ng intention ng lyrics ng song. Yung beat, nakaka-LSS siya for me, so inulit-ulit ko siyang ipatugtog not only because for the sake na maaral ko siya, but because i really like the song.”
From being one of the prominent housemates of “Pinoy Big Brother: Otso,” Aljon grew to be a promising actor starring in different series such as “Hoy Love You,” “The Viral Scandal,” “The Four Bad Boys and Me,” and “Teen Clash.” He also showed his genuine personality and infectious energy in reality shows “Rise and Go” and “Boys After Dark.” Recently, he appeared in the blockbuster film “Unhappy For You” along with Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto.
