The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Collegiate Conference crown beckons for the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses and the Adamson University Lady Falcons when their Finals series opens this Wednesday (October 9) LIVE from the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan on LIGA and LIGA HD, iWant, and sports.abs-cbn.com at 11 am.
However, before all the Finals action engulf the two UAAP squads, the Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU) Lady Eagles will be taking on the College of Saint Benilde (CSB) Lady Blazers in a battle for third at 9 am.
The Golden Tigresses were in dire straits after dropping the first game to the Lady Eagles but rallied strong to win the series via a five-set squeaker in Game 3,20-25, 25-20, 25-16, 19-25, 16-14. It was all thanks to the Laure sisters, Eya and EJ, as well as rookie Imee Hernandez and Janna Torres, who avenged their UAAP Season 81 Finals defeat at the hands of the Katipunan-based squad.
Meanwhile, Adamson survived a challenge from the Lady Blazers but pulled through thanks to league-leading scorer Trisha Genesis exploding for 20 points in their last match, which lasted four sets, 25-18, 14-25, 25-17, 25-15. The Lady Falcons are experiencing a resurgence in their program thanks to the entry of consultant, and former Ateneo Lady Eagles champion coach, Tai Bundit. Other players Adamson would be banking on in the series are the likes of rookies Lucille Almonte and Louie Romero, Ceasa Pinar, and Lorene Toring.
Don’t miss the fiery volleyball action as the PVL Collegiate Conference Finals fires off starting with Game 1 this Wednesday (October 9) LIVE on LIGA, iWant, and sports.abs-cbn.com from the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan with Game 2 also airing LIVE on ABS-CBN S+A on Saturday (October 12).
