ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) broadcast journalist Cathy Yang brought honors to the country as she was named Best News or Current Affairs Presenter/Anchor at the prestigious Asian Academy Creative Awards in Singapore for her exemplary work in ANC’s business news program “Market Edge.”
In her acceptance speech, Yang was immensely grateful to the Asian Academy, stating that she and the entire ABS-CBN News team wanted to bring home the honor. “It is my first foray into the Academy as it is for the ABS-CBN Newsroom. It gives me such great pride that I came back to the Philippines and won this for the Philippines and for the Kapamilya network, which is really my home network since I began my career in journalism,” she said.
Yang, who also hosts ANC’s “Business Nightly” and “The Boss,” was part of the 20 winners of the first night of the annual event that aims to recognize “the best of the best from the region’s content industry.”
The Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA) is a yearly celebration of excellence in creative industries and serves as the “pinnacle of achievement in content creation and media production.”
