Streaming service hits 80M views, iWant YouTube channel gets Silver Creator Award
iWANT INTRODUCES CHILD SAFETY FEATURE, DEBUTS NEW ORIGINALS “TOUCH SCREEN” AND “BAGMAN”
iWant, the streaming service made by Filipinos for Filipinos, marks its growing subscriber base with a child safety feature and new original shows that showcase the best of Filipino storytelling this March.
Parents have one less thing to worry about their children’s viewing preferences as iWant introduces its child safety feature, which offers age-restriction settings for videos that may have violent, sexy, or mature content.
iWant also amps up its line-up of original titles this month with “Bagman,” a gritty socio-political thriller about a man who sacrifices his own moral values, and “Touch Screen,” a light-hearted show guaranteed to entertain the whole family.
Offering a bold and eye-opening glimpse into the dark web of corruption is “Bagman,” where Arjo Atayde tackles a career-defining role as an anti-hero. A barber and a dedicated family man, his character becomes dazed by money and power when he is forced by circumstances to become a “bagman” for a governor. His life is turned upside-down forever as he gets entangled in the dangerous world of politics and different societal institutions. The series debuts its first six episodes on March 20 and streams its last three episodes on March 27.
The three-part anthology “Touch Screen,” meanwhile, explores how digital technology has taken over people’s lives and personal relationships. It features Janella Salvador, Pokwang, and Denise Laurel in lead roles and is currently streaming on iWant.
In February, iWant recorded 80 million views, as it bannered new originals “Allergy in Love,” “Hush,” and “Apple of My Eye” and launched its iWant Sports section, while users enjoyed hassle-free access to Kapamilya programs, including its ten most watched, namely “Halik,” “Kadenang Ginto,” “The General’s Daughter,” “Pinoy Big Brother Otso,” “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” “Playhouse,” “Los Bastardos,” “It’s Showtime,” Gandang Gabi Vice,” and “Maalaala Mo Kaya.”
Users who cannot get enough of Angel Aquino and Tony Labrusca’s fiery love story in “Glorious” may watch never-before-seen scenes in the steamier director’s cut of the iWant original movie, which streams on the platform daily from 11 PM to 6 AM.
The streaming service, meanwhile, recently received the Silver Creator Award from YouTube as its YouTube channel reached more than 100,000 subscribers. As of March 5, the channel has 173,431 subscribers, who eagerly keep up with the highlights of “Camp Star Hunt” and “iWant ASAP,” as well as the trailers of iWant’s original shows and movies.
iWant, which can also be accessed via web on
