New York City-based Filipino singer-songwriter returns in the OPM scene

Singer-songwriter Ron Solis returns to the music scene by releasing a new version of his self-penned melancholic track “Last Love Song” under Star Music this Friday (February 12).

Originally a finalist in the ‘Himig Handog Love Songs 2’ songwriting competition in 2003, “Last Love Song” was interpreted by boyband 17:28 and Heart Evangelista, which captures the emotions of someone who has finally decided to bid his significant other goodbye.

It is one of Ron’s two entries in the contest that year, the other one being “Huwag Ka Nang Umiyak,” which was brought to life by OPM band True Faith. He will also release his own version of this song in April.

Now based in New York City in the US, the gifted Filipino music artist reemerges to revive “Last Love Song” which perfectly illustrates his core as a hopeless romantic whose words and melodies embody emotional truths while also reflecting personal sentiments.

His music is also heavily inspired by ‘90s R&B, but he has also dabbled in creating songs that carry the unique sound of Filipino ballads, musical theater, and even folk.
