Julia dubbed the Pinay Black Widow, Angelina Jolie
Julia Montes’ highly anticipated role in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” has become a hot topic among fans after ABS-CBN’s Dreamscape Entertainment released three videos of her high-intensity training session, including one where she engages in action stunts with leading man Coco Martin.
Fans felt ‘kilig’ over the latest video where Julia and Coco are seen training together, with Coco giving tips and teaching her some moves. Some netizens even went as far as dubbing Julia the Philippines’ own Black Widow and Angelina Jolie, as the actress gave a glimpse of what to expect from her feisty character.
Stunt coordinator Erwin Tagle revealed that Coco, who is also one of the directors of the series, specifically tapped him to prepare Julia for her action-packed scenes.
“Direk Coco really wanted to build a team that would be dedicated to Julia’s fight scenes. Even her camera shots, even her camera angles are approached differently. I combined Filipino martial arts, that’s our fight design for Julia. Although Direk Coco requested that I also inject some street and brawl fight styles,” said coach Erwin in a “TV Patrol” report.
Julia’s training videos have triggered various speculations as to what her character might be, while it remains to be seen whether she will become Cardo Dalisay’s (Coco Martin) friend or foe in the sixth year of the country’s longest-running action-drama series.
“The training session of CocoJul really amazed me! This is really something that I’m going to look forward to this September!,” said Jong Mutia.
Twitter user @Carma78059960 commented, “OMG! May pumutok yata na ugat sa leeg ko sa kilig! Wahahaha! Kaya pa kaya hanggang September?”
YouTube user Joyce Apiag, meanwhile, commented, “She really is the Black Widow of the Philippines!!! Very impressive Julia, the whole team was also incredible. FPJ's Ang Probinsyano became more interesting because of Julia.” Jonalyn Mesa also said, “Incredible! It feels like I’m watching an international show. Her character could be compared to Angelina Jolie.”
