Sydney's largest Filipino fiesta partners with TFC for the 2024 Philippine Christmas (PASKO) Festival

June 28, 2024 AT 08:48 AM

SYDNEY, June 28, 2024 - For the large part of the world where summer is the current season, talking about Christmas at this time may be way too early.  But most people associate Christmas with winter and the winter season in Australia officially begins in June.

Thus, it is appropriate for the Philippine Community Council of New South Wales, Inc. (PCC-NSW) to share with Australians and the Filipino communities around the world that it has partnered with TFC - the flagship multimedia brand of ABS-CBN Global group of companies - for its annual Philippine Christmas (PASKO) Festival in Sydney set for November 16 and 17, Saturday and Sunday, at the Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour, Sydney.  This event has become the largest Filipino festival in Sydney since its debut in 2016, reaching an attendance of over 120,000 back in 2022.  The Australian government and the Philippine Embassy consistently support this celebratory event of Filipino Christmas culture and tradition.

What's new with the partnership is that on TFC's 30th anniversary, the Philippine Christmas (PASKO) Festival will have a grand "TFC30 Happy Hour" to be headlined by some of the biggest names in Filipino showbiz. This segment is a major highlight within the event's festivities.

At the contract signing for the PASKO partnership are from left, Philippine Community Council of New South Wales, Inc. (PCC-NSW) Vice President External Jess Arranz, PCC-NSW President Cesar Bartolome, ABS-CBN Global Asia-Pacific Regional Marketing Head Raymund Romero and ABS-CBN Australia Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist Rommel Ainza

The Philippine Christmas (PASKO) Festival is an experience that delights the senses and spirit, with all its offerings to be savored in every aspect. Traditional holiday food and drinks like tsokolate, puto bumbong, bibingka, lechon and other mouth-watering fare are made with passion poured into every dish.  Filipino Christmas songs and cultural dances transport one's mind and soul into the colorful and festive celebrations of the holidays back in the Philippines.  Stalls showcasing world-class Philippine-made products and services will convince attendees that the Philippines is a tourism and business destination.

"Aside from bringing the Philippine Christmas experience to Sydney, the Philippine Christmas (PASKO) Festival connects the Filipino community in Sydney with the rest of New South Wales and Australia for that matter," said ABS-CBN Managing Director for Asia-Pacific Maribel Hernaez. "Also, as the event celebrates local Filipino talent here in Australia, it also bridges them with the biggest stars coming from the homeland to perform at the TFC Hour.  We are thrilled to partner with PCC-NSW to make all these happen. More than a spectacle, this will be a transformative experience and shared celebration where you'll find a sense of unity and belonging while honoring the roots of Filipino Christian tradition."
