The stars of ABS-CBN’s hit action-drama “Lavender Fields,” which nears its finale week, described their roles in the primetime series as first of a kind as it diverged from their usual characters in past projects.
During the series' finale mediacon on Monday (January 6), Jodi Sta. Maria, who played Jasmin Flores and Lavender Fields, revealed that she found it difficult to shoot the intense action scenes as her character was a one-of-a-kind portrayal in her showbiz career.
"We spent hours, days, choreographing the scenes bago namin siya i-shoot. It was challenging, yes, pero for me it was a unique experience na nagawa ko sa ilang years ko sa industry," she said.
"It was a beautiful journey. I'm not going to say na naging madali pero sabi nila the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. So I think 'yun din ang special about 'Lavender Fields,’” she added.
For Janine Gutierrez, who played Iris Buenavidez, it was not easy playing the villain role in the series as it was her first time playing such in her career.
“Kahit 'yung first week of taping parang mali-mali pa rin 'yung ginagawa ko. Napagsasabihan pa ako na masyadong nakakaawa 'yung mata mo or ganyan. Sobrang tinulungan, sobrang patient nila sa akin until ma-achieve ko 'yung kumportable na ako kay Iris. Nalalaro ko na 'yung pagtataray niya," she shared.
Meanwhile, Jericho Rosales, who played Tyrone de Vera, cited that he wanted the viewers to remember the series as “Jodi's offbeat kind of role, Janine's first unexpected kontrabida role, his first red flag role, and Jolina's first super dramatic role.”
On the other hand, Jolina Magdangal, who played Lily Atienza, expressed that she wants to do more series in the future because she enjoys the work environment now.

“Lavender Fields” gained widespread popularity for the cast’s impressive acting chops and thrilling storyline, which made it consistently part of Netflix PH and iWantTFC's Top 10 Shows. The series also hit a milestone as it recorded its all-time high viewership at 755, 332 views.
