Coco and Jake share tips on action scenes with the two leading men…
Donny Pangilinan and Kyle Echarri are painting the country red as their new Kapamilya action-drama series, “Roja,” claimed the number one spot on Netflix Philippines’ Top TV Shows after its premiere last November 21.
Lead stars Donny, Kyle, and Maymay Entrata were overwhelmed with gratitude over the viewers’ warm reception for the action-packed series, which was praised for its fast-paced and intriguing storyline that centers on a hostage-taking crisis at a luxury resort.
“It’s all worth it. We’re very happy. It’s like going to a set full of people that are super hungry to work. What an experience it has been so far. We’d like to thank all the Kapamilyas who tuned in,” they shared during the Star Magical Christmas event.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN recently gave a glimpse of Donny and Kyle’s acting workshop with Coco Martin and Jake Cuenca as part of their preparations for their fight sequences. Viewers also got a first look of Donny and Kyle wearing full combat gear during a behind-the-scenes peek at their shoot in a forest in Zambales.
Donny shared that one of the most useful tips he got from Coco and Jake was how to properly hold a gun while still eliciting the proper emotions that the scene requires.
Kyle also added, “I’ve never been a part of this intense type of action. They gave us a little bit of notes and the pointers that we have to keep in mind, such as the correct stance and how to portray the different levels of anger.”
The first few episodes of “Roja” introduced viewers to the characters of Liam (Donny) and Olsen (Kyle), former best friends turned enemies who will be forced to confront their conflict and team-up when a deadly hostage crisis unfolds at the exclusive La Playa Roja resort.
Catch the action-packed episodes of “Roja” which are available 72 hours ahead on Netflix, 48 hours ahead on iWant, and on weeknights on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, and Kapamilya Online Live at 8:45 PM. Viewers outside of the Philippines can watch on The Filipino Channel (TFC) on cable and IPTV.
