ABS-CBN scores major wins at international and local awards

ABS-CBN won major international and local honors at the 2025 Asia Pacific Broadcasting Awards, Leyte Normal University’s PAGDASIG 2025: Communication Students’ Choice Awards, and the 14th Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU) Students’ Choice Awards for Radio and Television.

ABS-CBN won major international and local honors at the 2025 Asia Pacific Broadcasting Awards, Leyte Normal University’s PAGDASIG 2025: Communication Students’ Choice Awards, and the 14th Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU) Students’ Choice Awards for Radio and Television.
 
ABS-CBN News Channel’s (ANC) current affairs program “Beyond the Exchange,” hosted by Rico Hizon, earned its first international recognition as it won the Current Affairs-Philippines award in the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Awards 2025.
 
The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards (APB Awards) recognize and celebrate innovation and excellence in broadcasting projects across the Asia-Pacific region.
 
ABS-CBN was hailed Best TV Station, while veteran broadcast journalists Kabayan Noli De Castro and Karen Davila were named Best Radio News Anchor (Male) and Best TV News Anchor (Female), respectively. ABS-CBN chief of reporters Jeff Canoy also won Best TV Reporter (Male) at the PAGDASIG 2025: Communication Students’ Choice Awards.
 
PAGDASIG is the award-giving body of Leyte Normal University, in partnership with Asian Development Foundation College and the University of the Philippines Tacloban College. It recognizes outstanding media personalities, organizations, and platforms that have significantly inspired, informed, and influenced today’s communication students.
 
Meanwhile, at the 14th Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU) Students’ Choice Awards for Radio and Television, Noli was also named Best News and Public Affairs News Male Anchor for "TV Patrol," while Karen received the Best Television Business Oriented Program Host award for “My Puhunan,” which also clinched the Best Television Business Oriented Program award.
 
The NwSSU Students’ Choice Awards recognizes outstanding personalities and programs in the media industry. The winners are determined through a university-wide survey.
