“Mars Ravelo: Tales from the Magic Makinilya” exhibit at SM Megamall this July 5-6
ABS-CBN has launched a collection of shirts to commemorate the 75th year of Darna, one of the iconic creations of Filipino comics legend Mars Ravelo.
Darna first appeared in Pilipino Komiks in 1950 and has since then become the country’s favorite superheroine known for her inner strength, courage, and bayanihan spirit. ABS-CBN produced a TV series, “Mars Ravelo’s Darna,” in 2022 starring Jane de Leon based on the beloved character.
The limited edition Darna shirts come in colors navy, royal blue, gray, fern green, and greyish green and are available for pre-order on
Lazada, Shopee, and Facebook via ShirtsandPrintsPH.
Pre-order for the shirt collectible may also be done at the Philippine International Comics Convention at the MegaTrade Hall 2, SM Megamall, this July 5-6, where an exhibit dubbed “Mars Ravelo: Tales from the Magic Makinilya” will be displayed.
Recently, a month-long showcase highlighting Darna’s legacy, “From Panels to Legacy: Lipad Darna! 75,” was also mounted in Casa San Pablo in Laguna as part of Darna’s 75th year commemoration.
The costumes from the “Mars Ravelo’s Darna” series were displayed alongside other larger-than-life panels of Darna’s earliest comics appearances, as well as other memorabilia of the Pinay superhero.
