In celebration of its 36 years of public service, ABS-CBN Foundation successfully held its first Kapamilya Golf Fundraiser – Swing for a Cause at the Canlubang Golf and Country Club, bringing together Kapamilya celebrities, golf enthusiasts, and partners to raise support for its advocacies.
The fundraising event will help create safe spaces for children, provide immediate relief to families, support the education of all learners, nurture sustainable livelihoods, and protect the environment.
Kapamilya personalities River Joseph, Ogie Alcasid, and Marvin Agustin, together with Filipino golf prodigy Zach Guico, and ABS-CBN Foundation Managing Director Roberta Lopez-Feliciano hit the ceremonial tee-off to symbolize the opening of the event.
The tournament drew over 170 players and concluded with an awarding ceremony hosted by seasoned sports anchors Dyan Castillejo and Anthony Suntay, recognizing winners in different categories: Lowest Net – Jakey Yulo; Lowest Gross – Gabriel Francis Herbosa; Men’s Division Class A Champion – Chuck Hong; Class B Champion – River Joseph; Class C Champion – Gorby Escalante; Class D Champion – Elvis Llarena; Ladies Division Champion – Videlyn Torralba.
In her remarks, Lopez Feliciano underscored the very heart of the event, stating: “It may seem that we are heroes by saving people’s lives, but truly it’s our donors and beneficiaries who placed their trust in us. The work we do will not be possible without all of you here today and the people we do it for. Maraming salamat!”
