A soundtrack of love’s highs, lows, and glow ups
Promising artist Kanishia Santos navigates the different phases of love in her first full-length album and comeback offering “IKYK.”
“It talks about the ups, down, and the new chapter of being in love,” the StarPop artist said in a livestream.
The album’s title comes from the phrase “if you know, you know.” Eight tracks including, “Paraiso,” “IKYK,” “Aaminin Ko Na,” “Halata,” “Pilit,” “Like I Do,” “Daybreak,” and “Sige Lang” comprise the LP.
The tracks were written by Trisha Denise, Dennis Campañer, Angelica Tagadtad, Hazel Faith D. Santos, while StarPop label head Roque “Rox” Santos served as a composer and executive producer.
“Paraiso,” “Halata,” and “Sige Lang” serve as the album’s key tracks. In “Paraiso,” Kanishia talks about finding love that feels like a paradise, while “Halata” delves into sending love signals to a special someone. “Sige Lang” closes the album with a message of believing in new beginnings.
Kanishia, sister of “Sins of the Father” star L.A. Santos, made her debut in 2020 with the single “A Little Taste of Danger.” In 2022, she released her first extended play (EP) “Born to Cry.” In the same year, she performed at the 2022 Awit Awards.
