Mutya Orquia to headline new financial literacy series for students

May 21, 2026 AT 02:40 PM

Mutya Orquia is set to star in new episodes of the educational series “Estudyantipid,” which aims to teach Filipino students practical lessons on saving, budgeting, and avoiding scams.

The new episodes are part of a partnership between the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. and BPI Foundation, Inc. under the FinEd (Financial Education) Unboxed initiative.

Designed for high school learners, the upcoming “Estudyantipid” episodes will tackle responsible money management, smart spending habits, fraud and scam awareness in digital spaces, and making wise financial decisions through relatable and student-friendly storytelling.

The project also includes the rollout of Knowledge Channel TV (KCTV) learning packages to selected schools nationwide, helping bring educational and financial literacy content to more young learners, particularly in underserved communities.

Starting July 2026, the initiative will be rolled out in selected schools across Iloilo, and Rizal, as well as in pilot areas in Mindanao, with sites in Sarangani or South Cotabato, and Zamboanga or Basilan currently under consideration.

Leading the partnership signing were BPI Foundation trustee Mary Catherine Elizabeth Santamaria and KCFI vice president Edric Calma together with representatives from both organizations.
