ABS-CBN still top choice of viewers in September

Viewers nationwide prefer to catch relevant news and inspiring TV series on ABS-CBN as the network registered an average audience share of 45%, or 14 points higher than GMA’s 31%, based on data from Kantar Media.

Viewers nationwide prefer to catch relevant news and inspiring TV series on ABS-CBN as the network registered an average audience share of 45%, or 14 points higher than GMA’s 31%, based on data from Kantar Media.

“FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” (34.9%) which celebrates its fourth year on television, continued to top the chart of most-watched programs of Filipinos nationwide.

The hit reality singing TV competition “The Voice Kids” (34.2%) emerged as the preferred TV show on weekends by viewers, while the action-drama “The General’s Daughter” (32.2%) kept its grip on the list of most watched shows for its adrenaline-fueled scenes.

Also completing the roster of most watched shows in September are the Kapamilya network’s weekday and weekend programs, including “Wansapanataym” (30.6%), “Parasite Island” (30.4%), “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” (29.2%), “TV Patrol” (27.6%), “Home Sweetie Home: Extra Sweet” (25.8%), and “Rated K: Handa Na Ba Kayo?” (23.7%).

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN also won all time blocks in September, asserting its lead in primetime (6:00 PM-12:00 MN) where it recorded 47% share, versus GMA’s 33%; in the afternoon block (3:00 PM-6:00 PM) with 48%, compared to GMA’s 32%; in the noontime block (12:00 NN-3:00 PM) with 48%, versus GMA’s 29%, and in the morning block (6:00 AM-12:00 NN) with 37%, in contrast to GMA’s 29%.

Likewise, the Kapamilya network also emerged triumphant again Metro Manila as it registered 41% share, beating GMA’s 25%. In Mega Manila, ABS-CBN registered 36%, while GMA got 32%.
 
In Total Luzon, ABS-CBN earned 41%, versus GMA’s 34%. It also won in Total Visayas with 57%, beating GMA’s 24%, as well as in Total Mindanao with 51%, trailing GMA’s 28%.  

Multinational audience measurement provider Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,610 urban and rural homes that represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population.
