Three schools will duke it out for the right to challenge defending champion San Beda University (SBU) Red Lions in the NCAA Season 95 stepladder semifinals starting this Tuesday (November 5) at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.
The match between fourth-seeded San Sebastian College-Recoletos (SSC-R) Golden Stags and third-seeded Colegio De San Juan De Letran (CSJL) Knights will air LIVE on ABS-CBN S+A and iWant at 4 pm.
The winner of the deathmatch will be facing the waiting Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Pirates, which finished second after the elimination round, for the ticket to the championship match.
The stepladder semis came into effect after the Red Lions swept through the double round eliminations behind leading MVP candidate Calvin Oftana and talented point guard Evan Nelle.
The road to the Finals, and a date with the SBU Red Lions, is a steep one and Letran’s Jerrick Balanza, SSC-R’s Allyn Bulanadi, and LPU’s Jaycee and Jayvee Marcelino can’t wait to start the trek and try to unseat the fourpeat-seeking champions.
For Balanza and Bulanadi, they both still have memories of their Season 93 duel where the Stags upended the Knights to take the last ticket to the Final Four thanks to a Michael Calisaan triple. “I want to get that back (Season 93) for Rey (Nambatac). That is still on my mind and I am looking forward to seeing Baste,” shared Balanza.
Meanwhile, LPU’s Marcelino twins are preparing for a tough match, whichever between SSC-R or Letran advances. Previously, the Pirates were the last team to sweep the eliminations and had to wait for their opponents in the Finals. “Whoever we have to face, we’ll prepare for them the same way we prepare for each game,” Jayvee Marcelino said.
Don’t miss the NCAA Season 95 stepladder semis that starts on Tuesday (November 5) LIVE on S+A from the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan at 4 pm with the CSJL Knights facing the SSC-R Stags for the chance to face the LPU Pirates before booking a Finals ticket.
