Karen shines spotlight on former delivery rider who is now a business owner

“Violy Bee” may sound like a famous fast food chain but instead of fried chicken, this diner sells breakfast meals that are priced from P7 to P28.

Migs Bustos will meet Violy and Melvin Palma, the senior citizen couple who own the diner "Violy Bee" which sells very affordable meals, in “My Puhunan" this Saturday (September 30).

From the amount of P7, Nanay Violy and Tatay Melvin can satisfy their customers because of their very affordable fried rice and viands with a side of unlimited soup. The husband and wife started their business in 2007, situated in front of their home in Novaliches, Quezon City. Because of “Violy Bee,” they built a new home and financially supported their family.

Karen Davila also shines the spotlight on Eman Ramos, a former delivery rider who now has his own food cart business selling pares and mami.

Since pares and mami became a "survival food" for many Filipinos during the height of the pandemic, Eman thought of turning it into a business. Using the P3,000 investment aid from the government, Eman and his wife Mela started selling at a food cart in 2021 and called it "Melaman," the combination of their names. "Melaman" now has its own place in Novaliches, Quezon City.

Because of their hard work and perseverance, they have been able to buy a second hand car so they can quickly drive their kid, who has a condition called alpha thalassemia, to the hospital.
