Gelli and Candy reflect on their struggles and experiences as moms in "Stars on Stars."

On rearing a neurodivergent child and taking on the role they will never trade

Longtime friends and versatile actresses Gelli de Belen and Candy Pangilinan opened up about their enduring bond and their challenges as parents in the Mother’s Day episode of Jeepney TV’s hostless talk show “Stars on Stars.”

Candy, known for her humor and resilience, spoke candidly about raising her neurodivergent son and how it shaped her perspective on love, patience, and self-worth.

“Hindi ako perfect na mom kaya I’m trying my best. My most and least favorite part of being a mother is taking care of Quentin. Mahirap siya pero ito yung dahilan bakit ako umayos bilang tao,” she expressed.

Gelli echoed this sentiment, expressing how being a mom of two has been both her greatest challenge and biggest blessing.

“Ang pagiging ina, walang manual. Pero kahit mahirap, ‘yun ang role na hindi ko ipagpapalit kahit kailan,” she said.

They also looked back on their friendship, which has stood the test of time, motherhood, and showbiz pressures.
