Outstanding actress, filmmaker, and screenwriter Bela Padilla has officially returned to ABS-CBN as she inked an exclusive contract with its premiere talent agency Star Magic.
The signing marks a significant homecoming for Bela, who was first launched as part of Star Magic Batch 15 back in 2008.She described her return as a ‘full-circle’ moment.
She also recalled the challenges she faced during the pandemic and following the non-renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise, which led her to go abroad. “I guess I was so loyal that I could not stand working with other people that time. I was offered teleseryes in other places and I could not even bring myself to think work elsewhere so I said I would just leave” she shared.
Her decision to return was prompted by an invitation from the network, which she sees as a testament to their enduring relationship. “Now that they are back and thriving again, they called me back home and I feel like it is a give and take relationship,” she added.
Present at the contract signing were ABS-CBN chairman Mark Lopez, president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, COO Cory Vidanes, group CFO Rick Tan, entertainment production and Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi, Star Magic manager Deejay Cuadrado Dela Paz and W talent management CEO Pia Campos.
With her new contract, Bela looks forward to a new phase in her career where she can find a balance between her passions. ” I think with Star Magic I will get the push to keep on creating since the last few years I was focused on my acting. I hope I get a better balance.”
When asked about her future projects, she said that they haven’t talked about it yet. But if given a chance, she wants to work with Coco Martin again.
Currently, Bela is seen on TV as one of the guest co-hosts of It’s Showtime. Her last teleserye appearance was in “Pamilya Sagrado.”
