The standout, poignant, and sharp performances of Anne Curtis, Joshua Garcia, and Carlo Aquino as lead stars in the Philippine adaptation of “It’s Okay To Not be Okay” continue to draw praise from audiences across the country.

In the recent midseason poster launch of the show, Anne Curtis, who portrays the complex and emotionally layered role of Mia, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the encouraging feedback and glowing reviews.

“Maraming salamat, lalo na pag sinasabing we lived up to your expectations,” Anne shared. “We love how we gave it a Filipino touch.”

Anne also commended her co-star Carlo Aquino, whose portrayal of Mat-Mat, a character on the autism spectrum, has received particularly meaningful praise from viewers.

“All praises for Carlo,”  Anne said. “Pag sinasabi nila na maraming salamat for showing us how those in the spectrum can function — it really means so much to us.”

Carlo was also visibly moved by the audience’s reaction, which resonated with the sensitive and respectful portrayal of his character.

“I’m happy, pero sana ‘yung message na ‘wag sana silang i-discriminate, kasi high-functioning naman sila,” Carlo said. “Kailangan lang ipaliwanag ‘yung iba sa kanila para maintindihan nila kung nasaan silang sitwasyon.”

Netizens also commended Joshua for his compelling portrayal of Patrick or Pat-Pat, a character who quietly suppresses his own emotions while striving to give the best for his brother, Mat-Mat.

Recently, the show trended after viewers were in awe of the acting prowess showcased by the lead stars in the iconic pillow fight scene between Mia and Mat-Mat, as well as the intense confrontation between the brothers, wherein Mat-Mat asked Pat-Pat to decide whether he loved him more than Mia.

The hit ABS-CBN studios series has sparked conversations around mental health, neurodiversity, and compassion that have made it not just a highly talked-about show but also a culturally significant series.
