A heartfelt anthem for patient hearts and late-night confessions
OPM band The Red Strings leans into the beauty of uncertainty in romance in their latest single “Kupido.”
Filled with stolen glances, quiet confessions, and the excitement of relationship firsts, the song celebrates the beauty of letting love unfold naturally. The track was written by band members Gello Marquez, Cedryck Guda, Llana Claire Catudio, Nicholas De Rosales, Risen Santos, and Liam Barba together with DNA Music label head Gabriel Tagadtad, who also produced the record.
The Red Strings was formed through ABS-CBN Entertainment’s docu-reality show “The Next Big Band.” Inspired by the concept of the red string of fate, the group’s name reflects the belief that its members were destined to find one another and create music together.
Since its release, “Kupido” has continued to gain traction among listeners, surpassing 300,000 streams on Spotify and was featured on editorial playlists such as Hot Hits Philippines, Tatak Pinoy, and OPM Rising. The song also entered the Spotify Philippines Viral Songs Chart, peaking at No. 25.
The band has likewise been making waves on the live stage, recently joining Angela Ken’s “Panahon” busking tour at SM Mall of Asia. They also serenaded fans during “The Road to Wakas” mall show at SM City Dasmariñas and performed at “M2chella” in Market! Market!
