Kapamilya stars vie for international award!
ABS-CBN continues to elevate the Philippine talent on the global stage as 17 of its brightest stars earned nominations for the Outstanding Asian Star Award at the 2026 Seoul International Drama Awards, representing the majority of the country’s 23 nominees.
Among the nominees are “Blood vs. Duty” action stars Bella Padilla and Gerald Anderson, “The Alibi” fan favorites Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino, and “Love is Never Gone” lead actors Ivana Alawi and Joshua Garcia.
Joshua received an additional nomination for his role in “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay.” His co-stars, Anne Curtis and Carlo Aquino, who also received praises for their powerful portrayals, will also be vying for the same honor.
Aside from Joshua, Gerald also received another nomination for his acting prowess in the family drama “Sins of the Father,” while his co-star Shaina Magdayao also earned nods for her stellar performance in the family drama.
The stars of the crime series “The Silent Noise,” Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo, also nabbed nominations at the prestigious awards.
The ensemble cast of the hit mystery series, “What Lies Beneath,” also gained recognition, with Charlie Dizon, Kaila Estrada, JM De Guzman, and Jake Cuenca each earning a nomination.
Meanwhile, rising stars Fyang Smith and JM Ibarra of “Ghosting” are also nominated.
Among the past winners of the Outstanding Asian Award are Belle Mariano (2022), Daniel Padilla (2025), Kathryn Bernardo (2023), and Kim Chiu (2024).
The Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) honors outstanding television dramas and stars worldwide. The voting for Outstanding Asian Star is open until 14 July and the winner will be officially recognized in October 2026 in Seoul, South Korea.
