BINI, Maki, and Vice Ganda celebrated in the music scene
ABS-CBN Music was recognized for its excellence in the music industry, with its hitmakers, including BINI, Maki, and Vice Ganda, garnering multiple awards at the 17th PMPC Star Awards for Music, organized by the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC).
Fresh from the successful Manila leg of their “BINI Signals World Tour,” the nation’s girl group BINI bagged the Dance Recording of the Year award for their chart-topping track “Salamin, Salamin.” The group also earned the Pop Album of the Year honor for “Talaarawan.”
Singer-songwriter Maki was also among the big winners, taking home the Male Pop Artist of the Year and Song of the Year awards for his viral hit, “Dilaw.”
Vice Ganda received the Christmas Song of the Year award for “Rainbow Christmas,” a festive track that celebrates the joy of the holiday season, which he co-composed with Jonathan Manalo, Roque “Rox” Santos, and Jeremy Glinoga.
Veteran singer Jamie Rivera, together with 92 AD, took home the Inspirational Song of the Year honor for “Ningas ng Pag-asa,” a song that carries the message of hope and perseverance.
Singer-songwriter Angela Ken was named Female Acoustic Artist of the Year for her song “Kulimlim.”
Meanwhile, Dwayne Garcia also bagged the New Male Recording Artist of the Year honor for “Taym Perst Muna,” while Five Fingers was awarded New Male Group Artist of the Year for “Lakas Mo.”
The 17th PMPC Star Awards for Music honors the outstanding achievements of Filipino artists, songwriters, composers, producers, and music industry professionals across various genres and categories.
