Gerald mourns father’s death, Richard to arrest brother in series’ final week

Overwhelming grief takes center stage as ABS-CBN’s hit primetime series “Blood vs Duty” enters its final week, delivering high-stakes drama and action with the death of Datu Rahman played by Jaime Fabregas.

Last Friday’s (July 17) episode of the Richard Gutierrez and Gerald Anderson-starrer culminated in Baron Geisler’s (Felix) fatal shooting of Datu Rahman, a beloved character whose courage as a community leader and devotion as a father had endeared him to viewers.

Jaime shared his gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the action-drama series and bring a Muslim character to life for the first time.

“Ako po ay isa sa mga maswerte dahil sa edad ko pong ito ay nakakapagtrabaho pa ako kahit na papaano. Yes, I will miss working,” said the veteran actor, who played the father of Jalil (Gerald) and Jamilah (Barbie Imperial).

“Ito yung first time na pumapel ako ng isang Muslim, so pwede ko nang sabihin na marami na talaga akong nagawa,” he added.

In the series’ finale week, Jalil grieves the death of his adoptive father while Marcus (Richard) prepares to arrest him—unaware that Jalil is actually his long-lost brother.

The series, which premiered on primetime television last April 6, has brought a refreshing narrative that explores family ties, systemic problems within the government, and the strength of a united community.

The cast of “Blood vs Duty” held a thanksgiving show at Festive Walk Mall Iloilo last Friday (July 17). Ejay Falcon, River Joseph, Kolette Madelo, and Gerald expressed gratitude for the reception their series has received throughout the past months.

Don’t miss the last few episodes of “Blood vs Duty” on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live on Mondays thru Fridays at 8:45 pm. The series also streams on Netflix, 72 hours in advance, and iWant, 48 hours in advance of its television airing. Viewers outside of the Philippines can watch on The Filipino Channel (TFC) on cable and IPTV.
